Have you caught the current West End revival of Waiting for Godot, which has returned Samuel Beckett’s classic to the Arts Theatre, where it had its English-language premiere in 1955? Its strictly limited season must finish on 23 September 2017. A selection of some of our favourite review quotes is gathered below – as well as the new show trailer featuring some of them…

The timing of the production has taken on added poignancy with the death this week of Sir Peter Hall, who, then just 24 years old, directed that original production at the Arts Theatre 62 years ago.

Didi and Gogo wait on a country road by a tree for a man named Godot. All they know is that when Godot arrives they will be saved. If he doesn’t arrive they have to come back tomorrow and wait again.

AC Productions’ definitive Irish revival of Waiting for Godot stars Nick Devlin as Vladimir, Patrick O’Donnell as Estragon, Paul Kealyn as Pozzo and Paul Elliot as Lucky.

Waiting for Godot runs at the Arts Theatre until 23 September 2017.
