Hot on the heels of the critically acclaimed premiere of Claudio Macor’s new play Different From the Others, director Jenny Eastop’s production of Jules Verne’s globe-trotting romp Around the World in 80 Days transfers this month to Drayton Arms Theatre.
After dates at the Bunker Theatre in July, Around the World in 80 Days, presented by Mercurius Theatre, runs at Drayton Arms Theatre in west London for a limited two-week season from 12 to 23 November 2019.
London, 1872. Phileas Fogg wagers his fortune that he can travel around the world in 80 days. With only his trusty valet Passepartout and his stiff upper lip, Fogg battles everything 19th-century international travel can throw at him – triumphant successes and crushing defeats, peril, love and, ultimately, an awakening to all that the world can offer. But will he make it home in time?
This award-winning stage version of Jules Verne‘s 1873 literary classic, premiered at the New Vic Theatre in 2013, is written by Laura Eason. Fast and furious fun, it’s told at breathtaking speed by a multi-roling ensemble cast playing over 50 different characters.
This new production of Around the World in 80 Days, directed by Mercurius Theatre founder Jenny Eastop, stars Drama Studio London graduates Tuhin Chisti, Lily Demir, Sam Denia, Esha Dey, Honey Gabriel, Oliver Lintott, Conor Rivers and James Shaw.
