NEWS: Celia Imrie joins Glenda Jackson-led King Lear at Old Vic

A quarter of a century after she gave up acting for politics, double Academy Award-winning legend Glenda Jackson returns to play King Lear in Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy. She will be joined by Celia Imrie in the role of Goneril, Morfydd Clark playing Cordelia and William Chubb playing Albany alongside the previously announced Jane Horrocks, Rhys Ifans, Simon Manyonda and Harry Melling.

NEWS: Inspector Calls returns to West End for revival’s 25th anniversary

Stephen Daldry’s multi award-winning production of JB Priestley’s An Inspector Calls makes its much-anticipated return to the West End this winter. This will mark the 70th anniversary of the first UK staging of the play and the 25th anniversary of its first appearance at the National Theatre. The revival is produced by PW Productions – the company behind The New Arts Theatre at Leicester Square.

THON MAN MOLIERE – Edinburgh

The Moliere presented here is a man who can skewer others’ foibles while lacking any kind of awareness of his own faults. He also lacks much of an instinct for self-preservation and treats those around him abominably. That he is so sympathetic is largely due to Jimmy Chisholm’s performance, which combines charm, rhythm, timing and just enough variety-style playing to the gallery.
