Promises, Promises, Southwark Playhouse:  featuring Burt Bacharach’s music and Hal David’s lyrics, this Broadway musical arrives in London from the 13th January and is based on the Billy Wilder film The Apartment. Songs featured in the musical include I’ll Never Fall in Love Again and I Say a Little Prayer.

Death Takes a Holiday, Charing Cross Theatre: Thom Southerland directs this European premiere of Maury Yeston’s musical, which features a book by Peter Stone and Thomas Meehan. The musical is set in Northern Italy and the story follows Death as he  disguises himself as a handsome young prince to try to understand why life is so precious and death so feared.

La Ronde, The Bunker:  opening the second season of London’s newest theatre venue, La Ronde is a show which changes every performance, with a cast of 10 changing roles – never knowing what role they are going to play until the performance.

An American in Paris, Dominion Theatre: this eagerly awaited Broadway transfer finally arrives in London in March. Based on the Oscar winning film starring Gene Kelly and directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, the musical features music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin.

This is just a selection of shows and exhibitions happening this year and more will be added as the year goes on so keep a look out!
