It’s empty. All of it. The whole building. The Foxtons lady didn’t mention that, did she?
146 fully furnished flats and all of them completely empty. Except for…
Jay has just bought his first home: a luxury apartment in the newly refurbished 60s Brutalist masterpiece, Balfron Tower.
But he soon discovers he’s literally the only person in the entire building. All the other flats are empty, bought up by wealthy Russian oligarchs and Beijing businessmen.
He is completely alone.
Until he discovers he isn’t.
Someone – or something – still haunts the corridors of Balfron Tower.
Described as “High Rise meets The Woman in Black“, Bernays’ Ghost House is a spine-tingling tale of urban loneliness, isolation and fear set against the skyline of modern London and the contemporary housing crisis.
Writer Bernays is no stranger to the world of horror. His five-star version of Frankenstein, wihch previously ran at the Watermill Theatre and Wilton’s Music Hall, debuted in New York earlier this year. Bernays’ other plays include Old Fools (Southwark Playhouse), Teddy (The Vaults and on tour) and Boudica (Shakespeare’s Globe).
The production is directed by former Associate Director of HighTide Festival Theatre, Andrew Twyman, who previously directed Me Myself I at Vault Festival. The creative team of Ghost House is completed by Luke Robson (designer), David Gregory (sound designer) and Ryan Day (lighting designer). It is produced by Matt Keeler Productions Ltd.
Ghost House runs at The Pit – The Vaults, Leake St, Lambeth, SE1 7NN from 6-8 March 2020 with performances Friday – Sunday 9pm, matinee Saturday 4.30pm. Tickets are priced from £17. CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE!!
