If these first-look photos of Mischief Theatre’s Groan Ups don’t put you in touch with your ‘inner child’, we don’t know what will. Just two days to go until the brand-new comedy officially opens. Time to get booking!
Opening Mischief Theatre’s year-long season of new work at the West End’s Vaudeville Theatre, Groan Ups runs from 20 September until 1 December 2019, with a press night on 10 October and a post-show Q&A chaired by Mates co-founder Terri Paddock on 17 October.
Are we the same people at 30 as we were at 13? Does school life determine our future? Do we ever grow out of our school crush? Playing an unruly classroom of kids and anarchic high school teenagers, through to the aches and pains of adulthood, Groan Ups is all about growing up.
Groan Ups is written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields and directed by Kirsty Patrick Ward. The cast features Bryony Corrigan (Chemise/Miss Murray), Dave Hearn (Paul), Henry Lewis (Spencer), Charlie Russell (Katie), Jonathan Sayer (Simon), Henry Shields (Archie) and Nancy Zamit (Moon). They are joined by Paul Brown, George Haynes, Krystal Dockery and Holly Sumpton.
Groan Ups launches Mischief Theatre’s residency at the Vaudeville Theatre and the company’s programme of new work. The second production, Magic Goes Wrong, created with magic legends Penn & Teller, follows from 14 December 2019.
Groan Ups runs from 20 September to 1 December 2019 at the Vaudeville Theatre, 404 Strand, Covent Garden, London WC2R 0NH, with Monday to Saturday evening performances at 7.30pm, Saturday matinees at 2.30pm, Sundays at 3pm and 7pm. Tickets from £20. CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE!
