The actress spoke to Love London Love Culture about the upcoming production of Ruthless! The Musical, playing at the Arts Theatre from the 16 March to 23 June 2018.

Hi Kim, thank you so much for talking to Love London Love Culture. For those who aren’t familiar with Ruthless! The Musical, what is it about?
Ruthless! is a hilarious musical comedy about 8-year-old girl Tina Denmark and her diabolical ambition. It looks at how far people will go to get what they want, and the rewards and consequences that result. There may also be a few surprises!

How excited are you being part of the London run?
I am so excited. I’ve been performing in this show for a few years now, and it’s such a thrill to continue on this next leg of its life. And to get to do it all in London is a wonderful bonus.

Could you tell me a bit more about your character Judy Denmark?
Judy Denmark is a perfectly happy housewife and mother leading an idyllic suburban life. As her daughter forges full speed ahead in pursuit of stardom, she experiences her own evolution…

You are starring alongside the likes of Jason Gardiner and Tracie Bennett – how much are you looking forward to performing alongside them?
I am humbled and awed by them every day. Working with such brilliantly talented people is like getting a free masterclass. I can’t wait to learn from them, work with them, and bring our characters to life together.

What do you love the most about Ruthless! The Musical?
This is a tough one. I love how zany and fun it is while remaining completely smart and witty. That’s Joel’s brilliance. Plus it’s peppered with musical theatre and classic film references, which are so fun for a musical theatre geek like myself.

For those who haven’t had the chance to see the show – what can they expect? They can expect lots of laughs, gorgeous music, twists and turns, and LOTS of fun!

How far would you go to get what you want? I draw the line at harming others. Pretty much anything else is fair game!

If you had to describe the show – what words automatically come to mind? Fast, funny, and FUN!
