The drama runs at Park Theatre until 13 July 2019.
Napoli, Brooklyn is the story of an Italian-American family in 1960. It explores the struggle in immigrant families which is passed down from generation to generation, particularly for women. Set in Brooklyn, it’s a story of strong women taking risks to define a generation as they are forced to confront their conflicting visions for the future in this gripping, provocative portrait of love in all its danger and beauty.
Meghan Kennedy’s play was first staged by Roundabout Theatre Company at the Laura Pels Theatre, New York two years ago. This new production is the drama’s European premiere. The coming-of-age tale, which follows the plight of three sisters, was inspired by her own mother’s incredible story. The Original Theatre Company production has been touring since early May.
Lisa Blair directs this production, which features a cast including Georgia May Foote, Hannah Bristow, Mona Goodwin, Gloria Onitiri, Stephen Hogan, Robert Cavanah, Madeleine Worrall and Laurie Ogden.
