As part of her ongoing post-show Q&A series, on Friday 16 November 2018, Mates co-founder Terri Paddock will quiz the director and cast of Acting Gymnasium’s new Irish production of classic French farce A Flea in Her Ear. Got any questions?
Award-winning Irish stage and screen actress Tracy Coogan stars in a new London production of George Feydeau’s outrageous 1907 French farce, A Flea in Her Ear.
Raymonde Chandebise, after years of wedded bliss, begins to doubt the fidelity of her husband, Victor Emmanuel, who has suddenly become sexually inactive. She confides her doubts to her old friend Lucienne, who suggests a trick to test him.
They write him a letter, in Lucienne’s handwriting, from a fictitious and anonymous admirer, requesting a rendezvous at the Hotel Coq d’Or, an establishment with a dubious reputation.
Coogan stars as Raymonde. The actress is most widely noted for her starring roles in comedy/horror film Zombie Honeymoon and the psychological thriller Dark Woods opposite James Russo. On television, Coogan’s been seen in Love Without Borders and the controversial RTE series Love/Hate. Her stage credits include Poor Beast in the Rain and The Playboy of the Western World (New York).
Irish director Gavin McAlinden helms A Flea in Her Ear as part of Acting Gymnasium’s repertory season at Theatro Technis, which also includes new productions of two other French classics: Moliere’s The Misanthrope and Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac.
