NEWS: A Spoonful of Sherman launches UK tour in February

A Spoonful of Sherman, the concert show celebrating the music of the Sherman Brothers, will launch a UK tour next month after successful London seasons at Live at Zedel and the St James Theatre (now The Other Palace).

Written by Robert J Sherman and directed and choreographed by Stewart Nicholls, A Spoonful of Sherman on tour will star Sophie-Louise Dann, Glen Facey, Jenna Innes, Mark Read and Ben Stock.

They will perform classic songs written by the Oscar-winning brothers Richard M Sherman and Robert B Sherman, including A Spoonful of Sugar; I Wanna Be Like You; Chitty Chitty Bang Bang; The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers; Jolly Holiday; Chim-Chim-Cher-Ee to name a few.

The first ten tour dates, in February and March, have been confirmed. They are:

  • February 14th-17th – Tonbridge, EM Forster Theatre
  • February 21st-23rd – Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre
  • February 26th-28th – St Helens Theatre Royal
  • March 5th-7th – Aberdeen Tivoli Theatre
  • March 8th-10th – Inverness Eden Court
  • March 12th-14th – Darlington Hippodrome
  • March 16th-17th – East Grinstead, Chequer Mead
  • March 20th-21st – Guildford, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre
  • March 22nd-24th – Windsor Theatre Royal
  • March 26th-30th – London Greenwich Theatre

The Sherman Brothers are best known for their numerous motion picture musical songs for films including  Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Jungle Book, Bedknobs & Broomsticks, Charlotte’s Web, and The Aristocats. A Spoonful of Sherman is a show which celebrates the work that they created.
