Bernadette Peters, the renowned interpreter of Stephen Sondheim, is to make her Scottish debut in June 2016, with a performance at the Edinburgh Playhouse.

In a career spanning five decades, Peters has won three Drama Desk awards, three Tonys and a Golden Globe. Her first ever Scottish date will take place at the Edinburgh Playhouse on Tuesday 7th June 2016, following nights at the Royal Festival Hall in London and the Manchester Opera House.

The Grammy and Emmy Award nominee is billed to: “perform timeless, signature songs from the multitude of iconic shows in which she has played some of her greatest stage roles, including Gypsy, Into the Woods and Sunday in the Park with George.

Renowned around the world as one of the foremost interpreters of Sondheim, Peters starred in the original Broadway productions of Into the Woods and Sunday in the Park with George and headlined the recent Broadway revivals of A Little Night Music and Follies.

Peters  currently stars in the new hit series, Mozart in the Jungle on Amazon Prime, having previously appeared in 33 films and TV movies, including Annie, Pink Cadillac and Pennies from Heaven, for which she won a Golden Globe.
