New comedy Holier Than Thou, marking the London debut of young theatre company Freaky Geese, gets its full-length premiere next month at the Canal Cafe Theatre in Little Venice, running for five performances only from 16 to 20 November 2021. Time to get booking!
Formed during and in response to the pandemic, Freaky Geese Theatre has already presented two successful productions of new work. Both mounted in Guernsey, Luke Norris‘ Growth ran in August 2020 and Island Lives, a triple bill of island-inspired theatre for a writing festival, ran in January 2021.
The new offering, Holier Than Thou, was first conceived as a 20-minute sketch for Island Lives. It has since been worked into a hilarious, 50-minute show.
In this dark comedic monologue, a vicar struggles with his faith and addiction. The story follows Reverend Keith Lorraine as he confesses his sins and desperately tries to keep control as we discover the secrets of his past and how his whole life is now devoted to one of his parishioners.
Holier Than Thou is written and performed by Dan Le Friec and directed by Rhys Ashcroft, Freaky Geese’s founders and joint artistic directors. Le Friec’s onstage turn is supported by voice-over performances by Charlie Chambers and Robert Sidar.

About Freaky Geese Theatre

Freaky Geese
Based in south London, Freaky Geese Theatre was founded during the pandemic by Rhys Ashcroft and Dan Le Friec as a result of their passion and determination to not let the closure of theatre and loss of work stop them from sharing their stories.
The joint artistic directors say:
“It’s been a long-term ambition of ours to produce challenging and engaging theatre. Our goal is to offer emerging talent their first opportunity to work in a professional capacity.”
Freaky Geese’s mission is to give opportunities to artists regardless of their socioeconomic background or training while producing theatre that engages new audiences and gives them a great night out. With every production, the aim is that at least one member of the cast, crew or creative team will be making their professional debut.
