Full details of the 18-strong company joining James McAvoy in Cyrano de Bergerac in the West End have been announced. The Jamie Lloyd Company production runs at London’s Playhouse Theatre from 27 November 2019 to 29 February 2020, with a press night on 6 December.
Joining the Golden Globe and Olivier Award-nominated James McAvoy (Cyrano de Bergerac) to complete the Cyrano de Bergerac cast are Michele Austin (Ragueneau), Adam Best (Le Bret), Sam Black (Armand/Priest), Nari Blair-Mangat (Valvert), Philip Cairns (Referee), Tom Edden (De Guiche), Eben Figueiredo (Christian), Chris Fung (Usher), Adrian Der Gregorian (Montfleury), Carla Harrison-Hodge (Denise/Medic), Seun Shote (Theatre Owner), Kiruna Stamell (Marie-Louise), Nima Taleghani (Ligniere), and Anita-Joy Uwajeh (Roxane) with VaneekaDadhria, Mika Johnson and Brinsley Terence.
Fierce with a pen and notorious in combat, Cyrano almost has it all – if only he could win the heart of his true love. There’s just one big problem: he has a nose as huge as his heart. Will a society engulfed by narcissism get the better of De Bergerac – or can his mastery of language set Roxane’s world alight?
Edmond Rostand’s 17th-century French classic, freely adapted by Martin Crimp, is directed by Jamie Lloyd and designed by Soutra Gilmour with lighting by Jon Clark, sound and composition by Ben and Max Ringham, fight direction by Kate Waters and casting by Stuart Burt CDG.
Cyrano de Bergerac is the first production in a new season directed by Jamie Lloyd at the West End’s Playhouse Theatre, with further productions still to be announced. The Jamie Lloyd Company is a partnership between Ambassador Theatre Group and artistic director Lloyd, in association with British Airways.
