For the past year, Mates co-founder Terri Paddock has also been working on a new business venture, dedicated totally to musical theatre. Today, after months of testing, she officially announces #StageFaves and her involvement with it. The Mates kindly invite you to have a look and let Terri know what you think. Here’s the official launch press release…

Musical theatre just got a lot more social thanks to Stage Faves (www.stagefaves.com), a groundbreaking new, mobile website launched by WhatsOnStage founder and former managing director Terri Paddock.

Stage Faves is a new concept in musical theatre community building, connecting fans, performers and shows with each other and all the 24/7 social media content they want in one place.

For each West End musical in the Stage Faves database, fans can instantly access not only all of the show’s social feeds in one place but also all of the social feeds for the entire cast. For fans who want to learn more about, engage with and help shout about the productions and performances they love, it’s the go-to digital online resource for musical theatre.

On the Stage Faves website, fans can instantly access:

All current West End musicals, lead performers and musical houses

  • Updated daily rankings by Twitter, Facebook and total fan reach
  • Live Twitter and Facebook feeds for all accounts
  • All of a show’s social media and links on one page
  • Full cast lists with verified Twitter handles of performers
  • Over 700 and growing individual musical theatre performer pages, including agent details and contact information
  • All of a performer’s social media and key links on one page
  • Performer-centric West End ticketing
  • Personalised fan merchandise for every performer
  • … And an opportunity to help add to and refine the constantly expanding database!

A key aim of the site is to champion musical theatre performers – some of the hardest-working artists in the entertainment business – and help them to be as successful as they can be, growing their social media followings, expanding their fanbases and raising their professional profiles with every show that they’re in… with the help of their digitally-savvy fans, of course!

Using their Twitter handle, performers can log in to their Stage Faves page at any time to update their details, write a personal message to their fans and sign up for free marketing boost benefits and planned site developments. And, if they’re not already on the database, performers – or their fans – can add themselves in minutes.

Founder and self-confessed Twitter addict Terri Paddock, explains how the idea for Stage Faves came about:

“Last year, an Olivier Award-winning musical theatre actor complained to me that she wasn’t getting cast because she wasn’t active on Twitter. Instead of commiserating, my immediate reaction was: ‘well, get on Twitter!’ I firmly believe that social media levels the playing field as a marketing and fan engagement tool for performers.

“Then I started thinking about how, as a fan myself, I’m so often frustrated by not being able to find casts, and all their connections, online. By building the Stage Faves platform, I wanted to make it much much easier for fans to find, champion and support the musical theatre performers they love – and discover new ones as well.”

While, initially, Stage Faves is focused on current West End musicals, the database will expand quickly to cover more leading Off-West End and UK touring musicals, along with other new features and functionality.
