Paterson Joseph (Peep Show, Green Wing) is to star as Ebenezer Scrooge in Matthew Warchus’ big-hearted, hit production of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol, adapted for the stage by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child). The Old Vic’s A Christmas Carol returns on 4 December 2019, with previews from 23 November, and runs until 18 January 2020. Further casting to be announced.
Also in the creative team fro the unique staging, which immerses the audience in the uplifting story, are set and costumer designer Rob Howell, composer and arranger Christopher Nightingale, lighting designer Hugh Vanstone, sound designer Simon Baker, casting director Jessica Ronane CDG and movement director Lizzi Gee.
Bio
Paterson Joseph has had an extensive career in theatre, television and film since he trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). His stage career includes working in fringe and touring venues around the country and he has spent a number of years at the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has been touring his play Sancho – Act of Remembrance since 2016. Television includes: Peep Show, Babylon, You, Me and the Apocalypse, Timeless, Noughts and Crosses (upcoming).
