As rehearsals begin for the premiere of the Broadway musical, final casting for the production has been confirmed. Disaster! runs at the Charing Cross Theatre for two special gala  charity performances to raise funds for The Make a Difference Trust on Sunday 20 November 2016.

Joining the previously announced original Broadway cast members, Tony Award-nominated Jennifer Simard and show creator Seth Rudetsky, will be West End star Simon Lipkin (Guys & Dolls, Rock of Ages). Lipkin will play the role of Tony Delvecchio, the deceitful owner of a floating casino and discotheque heading for disaster and completing the UK star line-up.

Talking about Simon Lipkin’s addition to the cast, show creator Seth Rudetsky said:

“We love our newest cast member, Simon Lipkin. How dare he be so young and so talented! Director Jack Plotnick and I are so thrilled with all our Disaster! actors. When we came to Broadway, there was very nice buzz about the show having an all-star cast. We can’t believe we’re now lucky enough to get an all-star British cast for the West End version!”

The cast also includes Oliver Tompsett , Sally Ann Triplett , Jodie Jacobs, Alice Fearn and Sandra Marvin.

A professor, a lounge singer and a nun walk onto a floating casino…Join a cast of outrageous characters for an earth-shattering, laugh-out loud send up of your favourite vintage disaster films in Disaster! the Broadway musical comedy, crashing into London this November.

The musical spoofs disaster films such as The Poseidon Adventure, Earthquake and Airport and features songs from the 1970’s such as “I Will Survive”, “Knock On Wood,” “Hooked On A Feeling,” “Sky High,” “I Am Woman” and “Hot Stuff”.

Proceeds from both performances will go to The Make a Difference Trust, which supports HIV and AIDS projects in both the UK and overseas. This special production is directed by Jack Plotnick and choreography by Ashley Nottingham.
