NEWS: The Ferryman extends West End booking until May, TICKETS ONSALE

As demand for tickets continues, Jez Butterworth’s highly acclaimed The Ferryman, directed by Sam Mendes has again extended its run at the West End’s Gielgud Theatre and is now booking until 18 May 2018. Full casting for the new booking period will be announced soon. Tickets for the new dates from 7 January are now on sale via MyTheatreMates.

Rural Derry, 1981. The Carney farmhouse is a hive of activity with preparations for the annual harvest. A day of hard work on the land and a traditional night of feasting and celebrations lie ahead. But this year they will be interrupted by a visitor.

The Ferryman won widespread critical acclaim when it was first seen at the Royal Court, where it opened in May 2017 and was the fastest-selling show in the theatre’s history. This phenomenal success has continued at the Gielgud Theatre where it has been playing to sold-out houses.

The Ferryman is directed by Sam Mendes, designed by Rob Howell, with lighting by Peter Mumford, and sound and original music by Nick Powell. It’s produced in the West End by Sonia Friedman Productions, Neal Street Productions and Royal Court Theatre Productions. £12 Day seats including the entire front row are available for each performance from 10.30am in person at the Gielgud Theatre Box office.

The current, 37-strong cast is led by William Houston takes as Quinn Carney, alongside Sarah Greene and Catherine McCormack as his sister-in-law Caitlin and wife Mary Carney, respectively. They’re joined by: Maureen Beattie (as Aunt Maggie Far Away), Charles Dale (Father Horrigan), Laurie Davidson (Shane Corcoran), Ivan Kaye (Tom Kettle), Mark Lambert (Uncle Patrick Carney), Fergal McElherron (Frank Magennis) and Glenn Speers (Lawrence Malone), as well as original cast members Fra Fee, Stuart Graham, Carla Langley, Conor MacNeill, Rob Malone, Dearbhla Molloy and Niall Wright. The full company comprises 17 main adults, seven covers, twelve children in rotation and one baby.
