New post-show Q&A: Join Terri for the West End transfer of Bitcoin-funded Silk Road

As part of her ongoing post-show Q&A series, on Monday 13 August 2018, Mates co-founder Terri Paddock returns to Trafalgar Studios for the first-ever Bitcoin-funded West End transfer, Alex Oates’ hit Silk Road (How to buy drugs online). Got any questions for the writer, director or star?

I heard fantastic things about Silk Road (How to buy drugs online) at Vault Festival and I’m delighted to return to Trafalgar Studios 2 (one of my favourite venues for post-show talks) and to reunite with director Dominic Shaw, who I had such fun with at The Secret Garden event in Cirencester earlier this year.

Meet Bruce Blakemore, a struggling young Geordie tech-head and the unlikeliest international criminal mastermind you can imagine. From his base in Whitley Bay, Bruce and his Nan will find themselves sucked into an Underworld Wide Web of new-age pirates, local gangsters and tea-cosies.

Join a host of unforgettable characters in this -star ‘rollercoaster of emotion’ (Broadway World) pitch-black comedy for the Bitcoin generation which ‘captures the sinister beauty of the anarchic dark web’ (West End Wilma).

Inspired by interviews with real online drug vendors, Alex Oates (BBC3, Eastenders E20, Old Vic New Voices) has written an urgent new piece about the freedoms and dangers of an unrestricted ‘Dark-Web’.

Following critically acclaimed performances at the Vaults and making history in 2014 as the first show ever funded by the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, Shrapnel Theatre’s acclaimed production of Silk Road stars Josh Barrow and is directed by Dominic Shaw.

For the Silk Road post-show Q&A on Monday 13 August 2018, I’ll be joined by author Alex Oates, director Dominic Shaw and star Josh Barrows.
