A new touring stage version of the 1971 Disney film Bedknobs and Broomsticks held a national press night last Friday at Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre, after previewing beforehand at Newcastle Theatre Royal. The tour is currently booking to May 2022.

Fifty years after the film version of the Sherman Brothers classic hit the cinemas, Bedknobs and Broomsticks has finally hit the stage. With a book by Brian Hill and new songs and additional lyrics by Neil Bartram. Marvellously magically, creatively choreographed and sensationally staged it was definitely worth the wait.

NEWS: Stage musical version of Bedknobs & Broomsticks will have its world premiere in UK tour from August 2021

Producer Michael Harrison has announced that Disney’s Academy Award-winning movie Bedknobs and Broomsticks will make its world premiere as a new stage musical. Performances begin at Newcastle Theatre Royal from 14-21 August 2021, before a UK tour which includes a five-week Christmas season at Leeds Grand Theatre (8 December 2021 to 9 January 2022).
