SPRING AWAKENING – Edinburgh Fringe
✭✭✭✩✩ Stirring:
Captivate Theatre’s Spring Awakening is a committed and occasionally thrilling production that does not quite have the conviction to carry everything off.
SUNSHINE ON LEITH – Edinburgh Fringe

Young critics scheme review:
Captivate Theatre reprise their take on Sunshine on Leith, Stephen Greenhorn’s feel-good jukebox musical, based on the songs of the Proclaimers.
SHAKESPEARE IN THE GARDEN – CHEER UP HAMLET – Edinburgh Fringe
✭✭✭✭✩ Family fun
Young critics scheme review:
Educational, side-splitting and with just the right amount of ridiculous, Shakespeare in the Garden – Cheer Up, Hamlet is perfect for parents who want their children to be discreetly educated but without their enjoyment being compromised.
SHAKESPEARE IN THE GARDEN – BRAVE MACBETH – Edinburgh Fringe
✭✭✭✭✩ Childish Brilliance

SHAKESPEARE IN THE GARDEN – BRAVE MACBETH – Edinburgh Fringe
ilariously silly yet educational, Captivate Theatre’s production of Shakespeare in the Garden – Brave Macbeth for children proves a roaring success with child and adult audience members alike.
Perhaps the production’s greatest asset is the balance which director Sally Lyall strikes with just about everything. It educates on Shakespeare and the classic tale, but not so much that the children realise they are being taught.
OUR HOUSE – Edinburgh Fringe
✭✭✭✭✩ House of Fun
Young critics scheme review:
Captivate Theatre deliver a smart, energetic youth amateur production Our House, performed in Broughton High School.

A cheesy, child-friendly adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, Captivate Theatre’s Shakespeare in the Garden: Romantic Romeo” is a fast-paced musical will appeal to all the family.
