It has been confirmed that the Olivier, Tony and Grammy Award winning musical BEAUTIFUL will tour the UK next year, opening at the Bradford Alhambra on 9 September 2017. So far, dates for the tour include stops in Birmingham, Belfast, Plymouth, Newcastle and Manchester.

This review wasn’t going to be written. Why? Well as this was a revisit to a show which I’d previously seen earlier in its run, I thought I’d just sit back and enjoy. However it soon struck me that I was witnessing some really career defining performances. Having been extremely successful on Broadway, Beautiful tells the inspiring true story of Carole King’s remarkable rise to stardom. From being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann. Along the way, she wrote the soundtrack to a generation.

NEWS: Cassidy Janson and Diane Keen lead new Beautiful cast
Cassidy Janson will join the West End production of Beautiful – The Carole King Musical to play the title role from 30 November 2015. Also joining the cast will be Diane Keen as Genie Klein, King’s mother. Alan Morrissey will continue as King’s husband and song-writing partner Gerry Goffin as well as Lorna Want as song-writer Cynthia Weil, Ian McIntosh as song-writer Barry Mann and Gary Trainor as music publisher and producer Don Kirshner.
