Sometimes a musical just doesn’t grab you, and so it was for me with Rags The Musical. The universe clearly wants me to hear it one way or another though, as Ghostlight Records are now releasing an official London cast recording.

Carolyn Maitland, Dave Willetts and Sam Attwater will star as Rebecca, Avram and Bronfman respectively in RAGS The Musical at London’s Park Theatre. The show will run for a limited season from 9 January to 8 February 2020, with a press night on 14 January.

The trouble with The Woman in White is that if you dissect the elements Andrew Lloyd Webber fused into the show, they’re all perfectly fine. You could also add that Thom Southerland’s production flatters the source material with a rich and generous staging and some very lush orchestrations.

WEST END LIVE LOUNGE: ICONS AND LEGENDS – Union Theatre
When I went to the first West End Live Lounge back in March, I didn’t think it could get any better. I was wrong! Every single performance was absolutely outstanding and I was in awe of each and every performer, it was honestly one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen, full of so much incredible talent and just a wonderful night for a wonderful cause.

I can safely say that there were no ‘weak links’ in the performances of this show but there were highlights. Carolyn Maitland, as Molly Jensen was stunning.
