A specially staged concert version of award-winning hit musical Come From Away, due to play at London’s Phoenix Theatre from 10-27 February 2021, has been cancelled following the Ambassador Theatre Group’s announcement that performances at the company’s UK venues have been suspended until 3 April 2021.

Come From Away is a show that needs to run and run; its brilliant music and wealth of humour are enough to keep you coming back for more, and we can never remind ourselves too many times of the good that humanity is capable of when it puts its mind to it.
I could have written a rave review of Come from Away. But what I couldn’t get out of my head was how important a piece it feels in terms of recording history. As a former history teacher, and as an academic who looks at theatre’s response to real-world events… I wrote an essay instead.
