Though the big guns which are at the Edinburgh Fringe have now been rolled out, it’s taking some time to pin down what to aim for there. Meanwhile its somewhat smaller sibling is continuing in Camden and so I thought I would take a break from Edinburgh brochure browsing and pick up on a couple of shows from a Festival which is much nearer geographically and boasts some interesting online content. My choices narrowed down to a pair of performances which took ecology as one of their central themes.
NEWS: Kinks musical Sunny Afternoon closes in West End, 29 Oct
The multi-Olivier award-winning hit British musical SUNNY AFTERNOON will conclude its London run at the end of its current booking period on 29 October 2016, after more than two years in the West End. The production will begin a separate national tour on 19 August at the Manchester Opera House.
NEWS: Sunny Afternoon extends to Oct, marks 50th anniversary of title song release
Due to public demand, the multi-Olivier award-winning hit British musical SUNNY AFTERNOON has announced another extension to its West End run, until 29 October 2016. The extension will take the show’s West End run past the two year mark. This summer will also see the 50th anniversary of the release of The Kinks’ hit single Sunny Afternoon, which was released on 3 June 1966 and reached Number One on 7 July 1966 – just as England were winning the football World Cup. To mark this anniversary, 50 top price tickets for every performance in July will be on sale for £19.66.
