Barry Humphries’ critically acclaimed Weimar Cabaret returns to London in 2018 for a strictly limited season of 22 performances from 11 to 29 July 2018 at the Barbican Centre. Starring alongside Humphries is renowned artist Meow Meow accompanied by Aurora Orchestra, led by Satu Vänskä.
Mel Brooks’ YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN – the new comedy musical based on the Oscar-nominated smash hit movie – will open in the West End on Thursday 28 September 2017 at the Garrick Theatre
Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein – which will open for a pre West End season at the Newcastle Theatre Royal (26 August to 9 September 2017) – is slated for a West End opening autumn 2017. Exact dates and venue to be confirmed.
It is announced that Claudie Blakley, Marcus Fraser, Mark Hadfield and Alex Macqueen will join previously confirmed cast members Kenneth Branagh and Rob Brydon in the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company’s new comedy The Painkiller. The fifth production in the Plays at the Garrick season will play from 5 March until 30 April with press night on 17 March.
On Saturday 5 September 2015, The 39 Steps will close after nine years at the West End’s Criterion Theatre. Based on John Buchan’s 1914 spy thriller The Thirty Nine Steps and adapted for the stage by Patrick Barlow (Desmond Oliver Dingle/The National Theatre of Brent), The 39 Steps is directed by Maria Aitken, with design by Peter McKintosh, lighting by Ian Scott, sound by Mic Pool, and movement by Toby Sedgwick.
