NEWS: Noel Sullivan will play Dewey Finn in the West End production of School of Rock from August 2019

Noel Sullivan will join the award-winning show School of Rock – The Musical from 19 August 2019 and will play the lead role of Dewey Finn at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. The hit West End production, based on the iconic film of the same title, is currently booking to January 2020.

Craig Revel Horwood’s adaptation of Sister Act remains faithful to the previous Broadway and West End productions of the show. The musical, taken away from the varying locations of Las Vegas and San Francisco in the 1992 film, is instead set solely in Philadelphia, USA – heightening the danger and the limitations that the play’s protagonist, Deloris Van Cartier.

Here’s everything you need to know about last night’s West End premiere of School of Rock: The Musical in a nutshell: Andrew Lloyd Webber has a monster hit on his hands; the show is both a return to hit factory form for the Lord and also not at all what you’d expect from a Lord; David Fynn as Dewey Finn (that’s still tough to keep straight) is very good and the kids (who they all play their own instruments) are absolutely phenomenal (and they all play their own instruments).

NEWS: School of Rock gets London premiere at Palladium next year

Today, 7 December 2015, Andrew Lloyd Webber announces that following its triumphant Broadway opening last night at the Winter Garden Theatre, the West End production of School of Rock – The Musical will open at the London Palladium in Autumn 2016. Dates for the West End run will be confirmed in the New Year with details of when the production will go on sale.
