‘Empowering’: HOT BROWN HONEY – Manchester ★★★★★
From the moment the women of Hot Brown Honey take to the stage, they immediately command your attention and awe. This award-winning show is an explosion of female rage against the systems that have held them back for so long and it is entirely unapologetic about it.
REAL MAGIC – Touring ★★★
As with much of Forced Entertainment’s work, Real Magic at HOME revolves around a set of established (but unspoken) rules. Here, these rules take the form of a game show that seems to be taking place in limbo.

The hour-long interactive show follows two women stranded in a city-destroying dust storm after missing an emergency evacuation. Together, Scarlet and Olive must survive until rescue comes, finally deciding to rebuild their city with other survivors.

Scarlet and Olive were left behind when the evacuation transport left their town without them. A dust storm has rendered their home a foreign landscape. They have five days until the transport will return to collect any stragglers, and news is due over the radio at any time between now the then.

The shapeshifting Kathryn Hunter plays each character with such spirited passion and vigour, with no crossover in between, each character is a personality in their own right. Her voices and mannerisms bring the characters to life in an inspiring and vast performance, transforming herself completely.
