NEWS: Andy Nyman joins West End Hangmen, Full cast

Full casting has today been announced for the West End run of the Royal Court Theatre’s production of Hangmen. Producers Robert Fox, Matthew Byam Shaw for Playful Productions and Royal Court Theatre Productions are delighted to announce that Andy Nyman will play Syd, Craig Parkinson will take on the role of Inspector Fry and Tony Hirst will play Bill, completing the cast of the West End production. Directed by Matthew Dunster, Martin McDonagh’s Hangmen will transfer to the Wyndham’s Theatre for a strictly limited season, previewing from 1 December.

Following a sell out run at the Royal Court Theatre, producers Robert Fox, Matthew Byam Shaw for Playful Productions and Royal Court Theatre Productions are delighted to announce that Matthew Dunster’s production of Martin McDonagh’s Hangmen will transfer to the West End for a strictly limited season. Previewing from 1 December, the production will have a press night on 7 December at Wyndham’s Theatre.

AS YOU LIKE IT – Shakespeare’s Globe

As You Like It is one of Shakespeare’s most divisive plays, critics and audiences seem to either love or hate it with little middle ground. It seems to be a favourite of Shakespeare’s Globe too, this being their third production in the last six years.

I arrived with high hopes, Blanche McIntyre’s Comedy of Errors last year was a sublime slapstick, but the jokes here are more subtle, coming from deft wordplay. Nonetheless McIntyre squeezes some great physical gags (and even a tap routine) into proceedings without overshadowing the zinging one-liners and rapid fire banter.
