The Menier Chocolate Factory has announced the cast for the UK premiere of Gerard Alessandrini’s Spamilton: An American Parody which opens at the theatre on 24 July 2018, with previews from 12 July and runs until 8 September.
From the opening number which promises so much, through to the second half that might feel as though it is dragging on just a bit too long, the audience’s plight is fully acknowledged in this spirited production.
Yesterday evening I hot-footed it from the Charing Cross theatre seeing Marisha Wallace’s Soul Holiday concert, to the Spiegeltent in Leicester Square to see Velma Celli in concert and it was so worth the dash.
West End musical theatre group, The Barricade Boys, have announced a massive line-up of guest stars for their limited Christmas Cabaret season, which runs at London’s The Other Palace Studio from 5 to 23 December.
Ostensibly, these are concert presentations of musicals but the joy in what you actually get, the bonuses that get incorporated into the creation of genuine one-off experiences makes LMTO one of the more valuable recent additions to the London theatre ecology.
