The original two-part multi-award-winning production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will resume performances at London’s Palace Theatre on 14 October 2021. After over a year and a half of shutdown due to the pandemic, rehearsals for the West End production will begin this August.
This musical differs to what we’ve come to expect; it’s not “Dusty Springfield – The Musical” but a story written by Warner Brown featuring Springfield’s catalogue of 60s hits.
I do feel anyone going to see Son of a Preacher Man because of Dusty Springfield could be a bit disappointed, but in saying that it was an entertaining and enjoyable evening and the audience seemed to appreciate it.
I expected more in terms of Craig Revel Horwood’s choreography for Son of a Preacher Man, but that was made up by most of the cast members occasionally playing instruments on stage.
