Ria Jones takes on the role of the narcissistic, fading Norma Desmond with masterful skill in the touring production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard, reviewed at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking.
ROBIN HOOD (with Shane Ritchie) – Woking ❤❤❤❤
Want amazing acrobatics? Check! Love a bit of magic? Check! In need of a laugh? You will certainly get plenty of those in this entertaining production of Robin Hood.

THE LITTLE MERMAID – Touring ★★★★★
The staging and costumes are stunning, with the colours and fabrics perfectly reflecting the magical dwellers of the sea and the hard solid land. Absolutely transporting the audience to the ethereal reflective underwater world.
SPAMALOT – Touring
Adapted from the original Monthy Python and the Holy Grail film that is considered to be one of the best Monty Python films, Spamalot really captures the spirit of the original film and the sheer madness of the plot and humour that goes down a treat with audiences.
TANGO MODERNO – Touring New Victoria Theatre ❤❤❤❤
Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace’s latest show is fast, energetic and entertaining – with only a few moments which don’t quite flow as well as they could.
LEGALLY BLONDE – Touring
Based on the hit 2001 film and Amanda Brown’s novel, Legally Blonde is light, fluffy entertainment with a warm heart. If there is a show that is guaranteed to lift the spirits, then Legally Blonde is certainly the musical to do that – with plenty of fun and enthusiasm.

JOSEPH & THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT – Touring ★★★
From the outset it was exactly what I expected: cheesy but fun. There’s no getting around the fact that its a childish show but what they’ve done really well with this production is really play on that childish humour.

JOSEPH & THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR DREAMCOAT – Touring ❤❤❤❤
Joe McElderry as Joseph has plenty of charm and stage presence – particularly during his heartfelt and poignant performance of ‘Close Every Door’. His enthusiasm and joy really bursts through in every scene.
DIRTY DANCING – Touring ❤❤❤❤
As the film celebrates its 30th anniversary, this brand new UK touring production brings the energy if not quite the characters to life in a new way to experience this coming of age story.
DIRTY DANCING – Touring ★★★
There have been a number of reincarnations of the show which always garner solid box office sales but sadly I feel this is purely because of the cult popularity as opposed to the quality of production. There’s nothing I can precisely pinpoint that’s bad about this production but I just feel that it doesn’t transfer particularly well to stage.

GREASE – Touring
David Gilmore’s electrifying production is plenty of fun to watch but lacking in personality in some of the key performances. This classic musical about a group of teenagers growing up in the 1950’s, learning about love and the bond of friendship is energetically revived
GREASE – Touring
Set in the 1950’s as a high school musical when rock and roll was extremely popular with the younger generation and the great Elvis Presley was on the scene, it was a cool time to be around and the musical is just as popular now as people are always eager to experience the nostalgia of their youth either because they grew up in the 50s or grew up with the film.
