Back in 2009, when The Great British Bake Off first appeared on our TV screens, nobody could have predicted that a show about people making cakes in a tent would even get a second series, let alone become a national and international sensation. But the…
‘You couldn’t really ask for a more genuinely touching show’: THE GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF MUSICAL – Noel Coward Theatre ★★★★
A British institution, Bake Off is may not seem like the most likely source for a musical but thankfully, its musical adaptation, The Great British Bake Off Musical at the Noel Coward Theatre, works incredibly well and is an easily digestible, heart-warming show and a love letter to the series so many love.

‘You can’t help but be entertained’: SEUSSICAL – Southwark Playhouse ★★★★★
Seussical is a bundle of feelgood fun that also incorporates some important and relatable themes, all set to a terrific score with a dazzling backdrop – Marc Pickering’s performance steals the show.
’Seventy-five minutes of loud noises & bright colours’: SEUSSICAL – Southwark Playhouse
It’s difficult to work out who the musical Seussical is for and why it’s been revived. Trying to imagine how a 10-year-old might watch this show doesn’t help answer these questions.
‘Utterly bonkers but ultimately heartwarming’: SEUSSICAL – Southwark Playhouse
Colourful, feel-good and more than a little bit mad: Seussical is pretty much everything you’d expect from a musical based on the stories and characters created by Dr Seuss.
‘Utterly & completely charming’: SEUSSICAL – Southwark Playhouse ★★★★★
Seussical the Musical is so utterly and completely charming I’m not ashamed to say it brought me to happy tears of joy at the end. Fast-paced – frenetic even – the action never stops, but it never gets in the way either of the drama or the heart or the show.
‘Sure to delight & enthral from start to finish’: SEUSSICAL – Southwark Playhouse ★★★★
Captivating and innovative, Seussical is a musical for all the family that is sure to delight and enthral from start to finish.

‘Fresh casting has enhanced the show’: EUGENIUS! – The Other Palace ★★★★
I wonder if a new genre is forming in musical theatre? Let’s call it ‘cartoon rock’ – because products like Eugenius!, Six and Knights of the Rose have little in common with the canons of Lloyd Webber, or Rodgers and Hammerstein.

This Irish and UK premiere tour production of the musical comedy, The Addams Family was an entertaining and fast-paced production of Andrew Lippa’s funny musical about a less than conventional family and its ancestors. During the overture; a finger-clicking hand appeared through the letter box;
THE ADDAMS FAMILY – Touring ★★★★
This show is a must-see for all, with a mixture of pure wit, funny lines and the occasional sexual innuendo underpinned by a fabulous musical score, everything hit the right notes, especially the actors.
THE ADDAMS FAMILY – Touring
These are the skeletons you want in your closet. In Addams Family Musical, Samantha Womack brings unexpected warmth to Morticia – is that a good thing? – and Cameron Blakeley’s Gomez, Carrie Hope Fletcher’s sensational Wednesday and Les Dennis’s baleful romantic Uncle Fester are all prime turns.
CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG – Touring
Scrumptious, truly: The famous car is big, gleaming and flies just as it should in the new production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, at Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre until Oct 15, but the surrounding musical has a much more homely feel to it.
CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG – Touring
This cast launching the tour has had some changes since leaving the Yorkshire Playhouse where the show was resident over Christmas. I believe they have had just three performances together and whilst there were a couple of times that this showed, along with slight technical issues with “Chitty” neither detracted from the enjoyment of the show.
