Once again Scamp Theatre brings to life this delightful story, The Scarecrows’ Wedding, which young and old alike can enjoy. Hopefully, the memory will stay with the youngsters forever, bringing a new generation of theatre-goers.
One of Julia Donaldson’s best sellers, The Scarecrows’ Wedding, is now on tour and comes to Rose Theatre Kingston on 23 – 25 July 2017. Composer and lyricist Darren Clark describes his excitement at being a part of this family favourite show…
The Scarecrows’ Wedding is a stage adaptation of the bestselling book by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler. It’s a love story about two scarecrows – Betty O’Barley & Harry O’Hay – who decide to get married.
There are pros and cons to the stage version by Scamp Theatre, musically it’s a strong production but visually it lacked the stimuli to hold my toddler’s attention and the same could be said for fellow pre-school theatre-goers sitting in the stalls.

Junior review by Cora Dibdin:
I enjoyed this play but found it very hard to review. The play is from the book by Julia Donaldson. It is about two scarecrows called Betty O’Barley and Harry O’Hay getting married.
