History Boys is long overdue a revival and the production (which has been meticulously directed by the hugely talented Jack Ryder) is a treat indeed.

NEWS: Kinky Boots launches UK tour from Northampton in September 2018
A new UK touring production of Kinky Boots will open on 19 September 2018 at Royal & Derngate in Northampton, returning to the home of this British story, whilst the West End production continues at the Adelphi Theatre.

I confess that The Wedding Singer is one of my favourite films, it is not even a guilty pleasure, it is just sheer eighties throwback joy and cast brilliantly. It definitely works though, the musical adaptation is not trying to be an incarnation of the film.

Brassed Off marched into the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, and it’s setting the stage alight with uplifting live music City Of Wolverhampton Brass Band and stellar performances from a tight knit cast.

The toast of the West End has been celebrated in Wolverhampton this evening as Natasha J Barnes (Understudy for Sheridan Smith in the show last year) gave a performance to remember as Fanny Brice. It’s easy to see why audiences took Barnes to their hearts last year and long may she reign, what an incredible find she is.
LA CAGE AUX FOLLES – Touring
The best of times is now, a more fitting musical number there never was – indeed La Cage Aux Folles is an uplifting, life affirming joy of a show. Although tinged with moments of heartbreak, the recovery process is so beautifully told that the overall feeling is one of sheer delight.

Anita and Me is set in 1970s and yet the topics, issues and heart of the piece are all remarkably current given the political times we are living.
BUDDY: THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY – Touring

I have never given much thought to my particular favourite venues, but as this is a year in review, it’s only right to give a shout out to some of my best loved spaces.
ALADDIN – Wolverhampton
Two talent show entrants, one Strictly Come Dancing star, one obligatory man in a frock and Doreen from Tipton! The cast itself was promising for this year’s pantomime extravaganza at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, and Aladdin did not disappoint.
